Ganesh Himal a massive mountain range close to Manaslu in the west with Langtang towards the east, Ganesh Himal with its major peak Ganesh I stand at 7,422 m /24,350 ft high. The native name is Yangra for Ganesh I with II and III. The name for mountains range comes from the Hindu deity Lord Ganesha, depicted in the form of an elephant, where the south face of Pabil (Ganesh IV) slightly resembles an elephant snout.

Around Ganesh Himal Trekking starts with a drive from Kathmandu to reach the low, warm valley of Gorkha district at Arughat town and then walking past many farm villages to enter into the tranquil environment within the green forest of tall rhododendron-oaks-magnolia-pines and fir trees.
The walk leads away from human habitation and farm village for sheer wilderness facing tremendous views of Manaslu-Ganesh and Langtang as far towards Annapurna range of peaks on reaching the highest spot at Pansang Bhanjyang hilltop.

After an enjoyable and exciting time around the serene forest and high green hills walk leads back into delightful farm villages and then ending our adventure at warm sub-tropical areas of Trisuli Bazaar where short drive brings you back at Kathmandu with marvelous adventure and memorable experience on Around Ganesh Himal Trekking.

Best Seasons for Around Ganesh Himal Trekking

March to May springtime will be the best time when wild-flowers especially rhododendron (Nepal national flower) in full bloom, the walk will be more attractive with beautiful, bright morning till afternoon, with some chances of rains sometimes.

October to mid-December another best months around Autumn/Fall and Winter season, when most of the days are clear for views and walks but can be much colder and freezing as altitude gains with chances of snow sometimes.
Monsoon months from mid June to mid September a wet rainy seasons, where less number of trekkers venture and some lodge in mid monsoon and mid-winter lodge can be closed sometimes due to harsh and humid climate which makes the walking trails much harder and slippery, but much greener hills with lush vegetation in wet seasons, so the choice as per your holidays in Nepal and for Around Ganesh Himal Trekking.

Day 03: Drive to Arughat town 630 m - 05 hrs.
  • Morning drive to Nepal Mid-West via Dhading towards Gorkha district at Arughat
    town for overnight stop in best available lodge.
  • A drive of five hours on mid-hills and down at Buri-Gandaki River valley at Arughat a town with bazaar and marketing place for remote hill villagers.

Day 04: Trek to Manbu 1,300 m - 06 hrs.
  • First day walk starts into forest past smaller villages
  • Reaching a wide valley and tributary streams that runs into Burigandaki River
  • Walking on gradual trail to Arkhet a nice farm village, cross over Buri Gandaki River, fed from the glacier of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal
  • Walk into Dhading district to Manbu village with short climb of few past Bahun-Gaon with climb to Manbu village for overnight stop view of Himal Chuli and Boudha Himal.

Day 05: Trek to Lamo Dhunga 2,200 m - 06 hrs.
  • From Manbu walk to Dhunchet on gradual path for two hours and climb to many smaller villages and forest to reach Dhunchet for lunch
  • Walk continues with climb for an hour to Lama Dhunga for overnight camp.

Day 06: Trek to Nauban Kharka 2,750 m - 06 hrs.
  • After overnight at Lama Dhunga, morning walk in forested area cross streams with nice walk of few hours with climb at Nuaban Kharka for overnight camp.
  • The camp offers grand views of Himal Chuli and Boudha Himal within Manaslu mountain range.

Day 07: Trek to Yarsa via Khading 2, 570 m - 05 hrs.
  • Morning cross Nuaban Bhanjyang an hour climb with views of snowcapped peaks,
  • Walk downhill to Khading for 3 hours views of Ganesh Himal peaks Ganesh III and Ganesh Himal IV.
  • After Khading hour descend to Yarsa for overnight camp.

Day 08: Trek to Timila school 1,760 m ahead Tirigaon - 06 hrs.
  • From here views of peaks, an hour with steep uphill to Kupchet and downhill to Lapche, to cross a small stream to Kapor Gaon
  • Walk to Timila school yard close from Tirigaon village for overnight camp.

Day 09: Trek to Chalisa 1920 m - 05 hrs.
  • Morning walk follows past Tirigaon of two hours reach Tatopani ‘hot spring’, enjoy dip in hot spring.
  • After refreshing break continue an hour walk to Dudari Khola and climb high up to Chalisa for overnight camp, offers vista of landscapes with snow capped mountains.

Day 10: Trek to Marmelung Kharka 3,200 m – 06 hrs.
  • Morning visit old monastery, walk downhill to Tipling River valley gorge
  • Cross a bridge with steep climb to Tipling for two hours till Marmelung Kharka
    is reached for overnight stop.

Day 11: Trek to Pangsang La 3,850 meters – 04 hrs.
  • After time at Marmelung Kharka, climb into forested ridge to Pansang Bhanjyang the highest point of the trek at 3,850 m / 12,705 ft high.
  • Pansang Bhanjyang offer panorama of Ganesh Himal, Manaslu far towards Annapurna Himalaya range, with lunch and overnight stop with wonderful views.

Day 12: Rest day for short hike and exploration.
  • A rest day with views of Ganesh-Langtang Himal with Manaslu range of peaks,
  • A pleasant place for rest and hikes explore hidden areas of Ganesh Himal areas, with chances of spotting wild life also.

Day 13: Trek to Rupchet 3,045m - 06 hrs.
  • From Pansang Bhanjyang downhill with some switch backs from one side of the ridge to the other
  • Walk with dramatic descent off the end of high Tiru Danda, and down rocky gullies to reach Rupchet just above tree-line and for overnight camp.

Day 14: Trek to Saline 2,500 m - 05 hrs.
  • Morning walk into forest with long descent to Salankhu Khola side,
    and back among agricultural farm lands and small villages.
  • Finally reach at Saline village for overnight camp on open terrace lands close to the village.

Day 15: Trek to Deurali 1,540 m - 05 hrs.
  • Traverse past terraced fields, cross steep small pass into forest to Boldugaon village,
  • Continue walk on zig-zag trails down to Deurali village for last overnight camp.

Day 16: Trek to Trisuli Bazaar and drive back to Kathmandu.
  • After breakfast with marvelous time around Ganesh Himal last day walk to low warmer farmland and villages with short downhill walk
  • Reach busy town of Trisuli Bazaar, walks completes with drive of few hours to Kathmandu, afternoon free at leisure for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

Day 17: International Departure homeward bound or respective countries.
  • Depart from the hotel as per your time for international flights.
